Turner Learning's CNN NEWSROOM is produced late every night
and taped by teachers across the country. But how could Turner
Learning's education writers provide a teacher's guide online
in time for class every morning? It semed impossible: the
show's format differs from night to night, and the writers
are not HTML gurus.
Merrill-Hall built a page automation system named The
SelfBuilder. No matter the length or order of NEWSROOM's
segments, the guide comes out right every time. The producers
can worry about producing, the writers can concentrate on
writing, and the overworked teachers can teach, knowing a
guide will be there for them every morning.
