Web Development Strategy

A large church serving the metro Atlanta area, Mount Pisgah wanted to make its Web site a more effective vehicle for communicating information to current as well as potential members.

Merrill-Hall helped create a development strategy that allowed the church to accomplish its goals within its specified budget. We recommended that the church leverage the data stored in its existing internal databases to provide information on church activities to the public via the Web. Our staff then integrated these databases with the Web site to make sure that the information on church events was displayed where appropriate. We also created a simple content management system that enables the heads of various church ministries to update their portions of the Web site, without having to know HTML. Our systems give staff the ability to update event information across the Web site in one step: When a designated ministry administrator changes information about events within that ministry in one portion of the site, the system automatically updates relevant calendars and other appropriate sections throughout the Web site. Our efforts have helped give Mount Pisgah a dynamic Internet presence that keeps its members up-to-date on church activities while making the job of the staff a little easier.
